Press release 1st February 2007

Due to the numerous enquires the British Dance Council would like to clarify its position with the following statement:

The British Dance Council considers it to be of utmost importance that open events run in Great Britain remain truly open and that no restrictions are placed on who may enter, or who may officiate as an adjudicator other than they must have qualifications accepted by the British Dance Council and that all events in Great Britain are run under BDC rules.  For avoidance of doubt BDC rules do not allow professional couples and amateur couples to compete against each other in the same competition at the same time.
